In May of 2000, Doctors Petecki, Pakla, and Bubanko all graduated together from the Illinois College of Optometry. All three were close friends throughout schoool. Doctors Pakla and Bubanko were married in 2001. Each Doctor had different experiences during their first four years out of school, and in 2005 they decided to come together and create a new practice that would take all the best qualities from their previous workplaces and form New Lenox Family Eyecare.
We opened in November 2005 at our 352-West Maple location in New Lenox, initially seeing 2 or 3 patients per day. We believed that by delivering detailed eye examinations and quality eyewear in a low-pressure environment, we would grow naturally over time by word of mouth. We opened our new location at 1230 North Cedar Road on February 4th 2019, and we welcome all to come visit our new office and see why we are different:
We do not like waiting when we go to the doctor, and you deserve the same courtesy. We do not double book appointment slots at New Lenox Family Eyecare. Eye emergencies may walk in the door, but we will always do our best to see you on time.
Unlike other optical shops, our staff does not receive commission, and we believe all our patients should receive the same attention. It is our job to outline all of your options and assist in deciding what will best serve you. Even if you are not coming in for an examination, our optical is open for browsing and our staff will be more than happy to answer any questions. Outside prescriptions are welcome.
If you do not see your insurance plan below, please contact our office as this list is not all inclusive. We will do our best to help verify your coverage, and we can provide the necessary documenation for any out-of-network benefits. Please click on the links below to check your benefits online.
We are especially excited when we are given the opportunity to provide quality and sensitive care to special needs children and adults. We will make accommodations whenever possible to schedule examinations when the office is quiet, often times at the beginning or end of the day. We will also have prospective patients walk through our office to see all the equipment and rooms well before their actual exam if it helps them have a better experience. We are fully wheelchair accessible; patients do not need to leave their chair for any part of their examination. Please do not hesitate to inform us of your special situation and we will work with you to determine the best approach.
